Hello there!
I’m Candy King.
I’m a Melbourne-based kinesiologist and yoga teacher. I also hold regular weekend retreats to help people relax and recharge.
How I became a kinesiologist
It’s a good question! I’ve found many kinesiologists are drawn to the industry because it has helped them overcome a health problem or emotional issue that’s left them stuck. And that’s been my experience, too. In 2012, I’d just moved to Melbourne from the UK, and decided to try kinesiology to tackle an ongoing health issue. To my amazement, these sessions fixed what other treatments could not.
That impressed me. I started researching kinesiology, then started my studies. I completed over four years of training, and now, as a qualified kinesiology practitioner, I have the tools to help others. My clients will tell you I don’t shy away from emotions, and I love peeling back the layers to discover potential blocks and areas of stagnation. Ask any kinesiology devotee – they’ll tell you just how much lighter and happier they feel after a session. That’s exactly how I want you to feel leaving my clinic, too.
I'm also a trained yoga teacher
Although my main focus is kinesiology these days, I’m also a yoga teacher. I love the healing body work yoga can bring and I incorporate yoga on my retreats.
My focus during my yoga career was working with children, particularly those with special needs, and I was often called on to teach in schools. It’s well-documented that yoga can help children manage their anxiety, regulate their emotions, boost their self-esteem and help them develop strength and flexibility, plus a whole lot more.
Talk to me if you’re interested in yoga sessions (I’m only offering private, individually tailored sessions at present).
I also run amazing retreats
Kinesiology, yoga, self-care, fine food, beautiful surroundings, good company… what’s not to love? Our regular retreats are all about helping you relax, recharge and claw back a bit of balance in your life – it’s a weekend you’ll remember!
Some of our retreats might include a professional massage, a kinesiology session or a guided meditation. There’s always a downward dog or two in the mornings, and a chef is usually on hand to feed us! Our retreats are typically held in a luxurious country home, in a regional part of Victoria. Our last retreat was in Kyneton, where guests spent their free time enjoying the shops, cafes and local gin distillery.
If you’d like to come along to one of our upcoming retreats, don’t forget to sign up to our newsletter below to stay in the loop.
